aibGROUP partners with Hurricanes as club's official insurance broker

aibGROUP is proud to be an official insurance broker partner of the Hurricanes. We’re honoured to be part of the Hurricanes whānau, sharing a genuine passion for the team, its supporters, and the wider region we both call home.

This partnership brings together two organisations deeply connected to their communities and united by shared values around teamwork, resilience, and leadership, qualities that are central to both sport and everyday life.

Our partnership with the Hurricanes is already creating a meaningful and positive impact across our staff, clients, networks, and the wider community.

From providing fans with opportunities to win tickets to see them play live at Hnry Stadium in Wellington, and us proudly watching our aibGROUP banner pop up on the screen as the Hurricanes scored a try!

But a special highlight has been the opportunity to connect three Hurricanes players—Asafo Aumua, Peter Lakai, and Du’Plessis Kirifi—with the 1st XV rugby team at St Patrick’s College Silverstream during a training session. It was a fantastic experience, with the players sharing valuable insights into the preparation, discipline, and mindset required to compete at the highest level.

Experiences like these are what make our partnerships truly meaningful—creating opportunities to inspire the next generation both on and off the field.

At aibGROUP, we are more than an insurance brokerage. We are committed to giving back to our community in many different ways, strengthening connections across our networks, and providing trusted, expert, personalised service to our clients.

At the heart of what we do is the understanding that we’re all connected. We may back different teams, but ultimately we share the same goal—success, pride, and seeing great outcomes across the board.

  • aibGROUP client update – FENZ levy changes from 1 July 2026

    News

The Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) levy helps fund essential fire and emergency services that protect all of us, our homes, vehicles, personal contents, businesses, and communities. It is a contribution we all make through insurance policies. While insurers and insurance advisers collect the levy through insurance policies, it is important to know that the amount itself is set by legislation and sits separately from insurers own premium pricing. From Wednesday, 1 July 2026, changes to the Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) levy will come into effect across many insurance policies throughout New Zealand. These changes form part of the new FENZ levy regime and will impact residential, motor, commercial, marine, and specialist insurance programmes.

    News

To ensure we continue to act in the best interests of our clients, we are observing the developments in the Middle East and assessing how the ongoing conflict may progress. Initially it was felt the conflict might be over within a matter of a few weeks but that may not be the case as it now appears the disruptions may continue for longer than expected.
