Commercial Property suffers fire damage

Large commercial property suffers significant fire damage.

A recent large fire loss at Total Plastics, Henderson highlights the risks and costs a large fire can have to a building and/or business.

This fire occurred on the 28th of September 2016 and has since caused significant damage to the building itself and neighbouring tenants.

Total Plastics managing director Tony King made the following comments in a recent article located on Stuff.co.nz (click here)

"I have no idea how it started, none. The fire service said it started in the bottom corner of the building, but there are only unused toilets there. We've never had problems before, except tagging, and that's just a sign of the times.

"It's too early to say what will happen with workers' jobs - but they will be paid today. We're fully insured," he said.

He said he had spoken with the building's owner, who was also "devastated"

The building had no fire alarms or sprinklers. This is an issue property owners and businesses need to be aware of.
